How to find the perfect latex bed linen and sheets

Experience heavenly sleep with latex bedding – here are the most important shopping tips for latex bedding!

When buying latex bed linen and sheets, there are a few things to bear in mind to avoid making the wrong purchase. Firstly, you should pay attention to the material quality. Remember to look not only at the price, but also at the quality and durability of the product. All too often, various “playsheets” made of polyurethane/PVC or lacquer-like materials (i.e. plastic) are sold here. However, it is not always possible for beginners to tell the difference accurately on the basis of the photos (after all, other materials than latex can also be shiny black) and it is not uncommon for these products to simply be sold under the keyword “latex”.

When it comes to choosing the perfect sheet, many questions often arise. Which size is the right one? How thick should the material be? And which color is best? While the choice of color is of course a matter of individual taste (although light latex colors are more prone to discoloration), there are a few things to consider when it comes to size and thickness.

Standard mattresses usually have a length of 2 meters. Standard latex sheets are also usually a maximum of 2 meters long. This means that the sheet may not cover the entire mattress all the way to the underside, especially at the head and foot ends. This isn’t a big problem if you’re only concerned with the feel. But if it’s important to you that the entire mattress is completely covered, go for larger sheets, even if it means there’s an adhesive seam in the middle.

Most latex sheets on offer are not fitted sheets and need to be tucked under the mattress. It is therefore important to plan for enough overlapping material, as otherwise the latex can slip, especially if you move around a lot during sleep. Some manufacturers offer fitted sheets in different designs. These are available in all sizes, with a center seam for large mattresses.

By the way, if you want to use the sheet intensively and not just occasionally, we recommend that you choose a sheet that is significantly thicker than 0.4 mm. From 0.6 mm, the longevity increases considerably.

Of course, it is also important to pay attention to allergies. If you are allergic to latex, you should avoid latex bedding and sheets.

I hope that I have been able to help you with my latex bedding shopping tips if you are considering buying latex bedding.

The next article will be about the variety of latex pillows and latex comforters.
